Purpose
The purpose of this website is to establish a virtual learning hub for the WIS expectations. This is an unprecedented time in our nation, but we do want to assure all families that we are STILL EDUCATING our students. "School" will look and feel different, but by working together we can continue to ensure that learning is still going on at the Watertown Intermediate School.
Please read our expectations below for what "school" should be like and consist of during this time. Also, lesson plan pages are located at the top of the screen. Please note that not all students are in all classes. Students should know who their teachers are and follow those lesson plans.
Should you need anything else, please contact your student's teacher via their email or class messenger (whatever the teacher set up). There is also contact info for other services and support below.

StudentsSchoolwork will be issued by teachers through Google Classroom. This is a little bit different than the traditional method of education, but for 5th and 6th grade students this should be mostly business as usual. Teachers are still teaching students and have been putting in many hours trying to keep in contact and working on lessons. Parents/ guardians should not feel like they need to be "homeschooling." Parents/ guardians please continue to do what you have done all year in assisting teachers in monitoring your student's progress, ensuring they are spending time doing work, and checking in on their progress.
Lessons should average about 20 minutes per class. Your student should have about an average of 2.5 hours of work time per day. Teachers are also posting "may do" work that students can do that is above and beyond what is required. If your child has questions about school work, they should contact their teacher via Google Classroom or whatever method their teacher has designated. If you are having technical difficulties, please contact your teacher first and if they are unable to help you contact the tech support listed below. |
ParentsThe school building is shut but we are still learning. Students, you should be following your teachers in Google Classrooms and continuing to complete your work in a timely manner. We are still collecting grades. If you have specific questions, please reach out to your teachers through Google Classroom or whatever method your teacher instructs you to.
You should be doing about 2.5 hours of homework a day. Organize your time, create a schedule, and stick to the schedule. The sooner you finish your work, the sooner you can do the other things you want to. |
